This is the photo thats supports the maxim "never give up." For thirty three years I'd stop whenever I visited this part of Colorado and climb the trail to the falls, hoping I would once again be blessed with a scene as memorable as the one I captured on my first visit many years ago. On this trip, I actually went out of my way to make what I figured would be one last visit before giving up the quest. I could tell, as I climbed, the flow of the falls would be disappointing, and even considered turning around, but something pulled me upward. As I rounded the last bend in the trail, I understood why I had stubbornly returned trip after trip. Although the scene was completely different from the one witnessed in the mid 1970's, the wait was worth it.
